24 hour Tandem Garage to Playroom Transformation

Last week, the kids were home for Spring Break and we decided, on the spur of the moment, to tackle our tandem garage space.

Ultimately, we plan to get this space finished professionally and added to our home for an additional room; but in the meantime instead of seeing the space wasted, we created
a quick playroom for the kids. And they love it!

We had a busy week, so basically had just one day to get everything done.
We went to Ikea in the morning picked up some small furniture pieces, purchased paint and got started once we arrived home.

After assembling the furniture, the paint was up and the next morning, with the help of the kids, we brought in their toys etc

My husband decided to add a geometric pattern for some art work, of course, I was all for it!!

This was all done in less than 24 hours and for a budget of $500!
Eventually, we'll add some more storage and play zones for the kids but in the meantime it's working out perfectly!

Inspiring Resort - Our Recent Trip

During the winter break we drove up to Nevada and stayed
at a gorgeous resort in Henderson. The resort was strongly influenced by Islamic
pattern and design throughout. I just had to take some pictures to share
on my blog.

Pictures honestly don't do the resort justice, every aspect from the light fixtures to the furniture was
stunning. Definitely got some inspiration!

Updated Eastern Decor

I absolutely love to bring in ethnic influences into my designs.
The way to keep it updated can vary. It can be achieved by color,
room layout, simplicity or adding that unexpected piece.

Here area few inspirational rooms that display strong ethnic influence yet still work
in today's design:

Eid Creations: Product Review II

I'm back with a second review from Eid Creations.
Loved the items I was sent last year (see review here ) so was looking forward to what they
have in store for Eid 2014.

I was asked by Rana which items I wanted to review; I decided to go with the Shabby Chic collection.
The colors definitely appealed to me.

I received the napkins, four plates, a balloon, paper lanterns and the Happy Eid
banner all in the Shabby Chic design.

The paper lanterns are adorable. They can be hung or set a top any surface.
The colors of this collection are just as I had hoped for. Nothing too bright, yet
still give off that festive feel.

The banner I haven't hung up, it's actually too large for my space. If I throw an Eid party it would work perfectly as a backdrop, but for over my fireplace or my Eid decor corner it's not going to fit.

The napkins and plates love the color and the quality of the product. The birds were a surprise to me, my five year old daughter really enjoyed seeing them on her plate. And that's what it's all about!

I need to get my balloon filled with helium, will get do that closer to Eid.

Excellent products once again!

Do check out Eid Creations to see all the designs they have to offer
for this coming Eid.

all I can say is life has been so busy!
I will get back to posting more regularly soon, in the meantime, wanted
to share a few pictures from my son's Ameen (finishing the Qu'ran) party
this past weekend.

It was wonderful hosting this during Ramadan!

Special thanks to my friend Ayesha Bokhary for the pictures.
